Ralph Waldo Emerson said that the “Earth laughs in flowers.” If that’s true, Meeghan Miller Hart and Brendan Hart started their relationship and marriage surrounded by lots of laughter. Meeghan and Brendan got engaged at the Central Park Conservatory Garden in New York City (where they live) and had their wedding reception at the Historic Oliver Gardens at The History Museum (formerly the Center for History) in South Bend.

Kaitlin Riley and Joe Duran were both participating in the program Teach for America, which places recent college grads in under-resourced high schools for two years. Before the two could begin teaching in New York City in 2009, they had to pass teacher certification exams and took the exam in the library of a Chicago high school.

Kahlo, considered one of Mexico’s greatest artists, is best known for her self portraits displaying strong, brutally honest and colorful images. She died at the age of 47 in 1954 after suffering from injuries sustained in a bus-trolley accident when she was only 19. She was married to the legendary Mexican muralist, Diego Rivera.
