When Laural Mill came under new ownership, this creative team led by Gypsy Rose Events and Anna Clark Photography knew exactly how to style it to perfectly show off all the venue has to offer. "Our goal was to celebrate the stunning rolling landscape that this charming venue is set in and to provide a vision for a European-inspired event design which allowed each beautiful feature of the venue to shine. Elegant and easy were two guiding feelings that we wanted to evoke," Anna shares.
One of the main elements the team played off was the beautiful floral arrangements around the shoot. Utilizing some of their favorite blooms to fill this scene, the florist blended soft and romantic flowers with the natural landscape of the venue. "Greenery, which promoted a sense of movement, was used together with taupe carnations, white majolica sprays, blush Hanoi ranunculus, white and blush peonies, white O'Hara garden roses, and peach ranunculus," Anna explains. "And to help the sweetheart table pop, white dried amaranth provided a stunning highlight to the iconic garden ladder hanging to perfectly frame our couple."
"This Daughters of Simone gown has been the source of my own personal daydreams since the first time that I saw it in The Frock. Madison kindly lent us the gown and helped with styling it to perfection for this shoot," Anna raves. With a beautiful blend of romantic and sensual details, this dress could not have been better for this theme! We love the sleek silhouette as well as the ruffle around the neckline and deep back cut. Paired with those stunning pearl-drop earrings and bracelet, this bride is as gorgeous as anyone should feel on their wedding day!
As for the hair and makeup for the bride, the team wanted to go with a delicately windswept bride. Choosing to play off the movement in the wedding gown and florals around the scene, the talented hair and makeup artist styled a romantic up-do for this bride. We love how it still shines with the addition of the hat later in the shoot. The florals also inspired this soft and subtle flash of color to the bride's face. We love the dramatic lashes that pull the whole look together.
While this shoot accents the elegant and sophisticated parts of the venue, we adore how the team also filled it to the brim with good Midwestern charm! From the silo bar to the barn reception area, this venue boasts both rustic and whimsical grace. However, this shoot proves the versatility of the venue. With a few elegant and romantic details, it feels as though you've been transported across the Atlantic for a romantic European wedding! Some key pieces we want to direct your attention to are the cement planters positioned at the end of the aisle and the golden and crystal details on the tablescape. These simple elements help take this shoot to the next elegant level!
Last but not least, we have to talk about that unbelievable cake! This four-tiered, angular illusion cake slants this way and that as if it were to slide apart at any moment. And we love the subtle details in the icing that blend naturally with the theme of this shoot! "Multiple tiers of pistachio cake leaned into the flavors of the European countryside perfectly," Anna gushes. "Some exceptionally charming relief floral motifs were perfectly placed to evoke more of the elements in the stationery and decor pieces."
