Jules and Robert met when the two auditioned for their community theatre’s production of Footloose. When they both landed leading romantic roles, they couldn’t help but fall in love IRL! Robert asked Jules to be his forever on New Year's Eve during a trip to the Dominican Republic.
Jules knew she wanted her dress to be unforgettable. Picking out a one-of-a-kind rainbow gown was a sure way to make a splash! “I had to take in a lot of eye rolls talking about a rainbow dress but once people saw it, they understood it was ‘the one!’” she says. “I did have a costume designer friend add a fuller skirt under it and a blue tulle belt which made the dress absolutely perfect. I have never heard so many wedding attendees talk about the bride’s dress.”
What we love
This couple made their big day a blast for all their guests. Jules adds, “From getting married on the stage of a theatre, playing musical theatre tunes, a flash mob dance at the reception, our dog as a flower girl and custom dog cake toppers, to a rainbow dress, four bridesmen and the bride’s dad playing in the reception band, our wedding was so much fun!”
Advice from the couple
According to Jules, falling out of a traditional wedding ceremony isn’t something brides should be afraid of. “Do not worry about tradition if it is not for you,” she says. “It won’t be easy, but it will be worth it. You don’t always have to wear white to be a bride.”
