Hannah Strickler of Design the Day combined her talents with those of Jessica Feltz of Jessika Feltz Photography and Lauren Cook at The Cyrus Place to create a style shoot that wasn’t only classically romantic but one that could transition from spring to summer. Inspired by the new venue, a historic building “nestled in Lockerbie Square” in downtown Indianapolis, the team really wanted to showcase the venue and highlight its rich colors, wood and stained-glass windows.

Hannah says, “We focused heavily on greenery with the added pops of pink and red flowers to really make those colors pop!” she says. To keep the overall style classic and romantic, the florals by Coby Palmer Designs were heavy on greenery and roses.

“The dress was perfect,” Hannah says. “With the help of the awesome ladies of Beloved Brides, we found this stunner to fit perfectly with our elegant style! It was an ivory dress with gorgeous lace detailing, a sheer back with lace detail, and cap sleeves to tie it all together. The model also sported a veil with lace detailing on the edge.” The bridal look was completed with an elegantly styled updo and simple makeup.

“The candles on the guest tables really helped bring the mood to this styled shoot, making it both romantic and very elegant,” says Hannah. “We brought in some fun, textured linens to spice it up a bit and make it more interesting while still staying neutral. We focused our accents on gold with the ceremony florals set up, chargers, candle holders and votives.”

The team fell in love with the beautiful stationery design, crafted by Just Invite Me and printed by Jupiter and Juno. Hannah says, “They featured their gorgeous Helen suite with added personal touches, such as the wax seal and hand drawn gold feature of The Cyrus Place.”

“The cake was made so simply and perfect by Kat’s Cakes Indy!” Hannah says. “I wanted something very simple, as to not take away from the star of the show—the venue!”
