Maisie and Cody graduated from the same high school, but their relationship didn’t bloom until they reconnected six years later. Cody proposed on a weekend trip to Nashville, and the rest is history!
When searching for the dress of her dreams, Maisie wanted to get a gown that was unique and full of drama. “I loved the idea of having a detachable skirt or train so that I could make a dramatic transition from ceremony to reception,” she says. We love that timeless elegant style!
Maisie wanted to get started right away on the planning process. “I downloaded multiple apps and purchased just about every bridal magazine and book I came across,” she notes. Most of her inspiration came from Pinterest and a floral print, which they based their entire color scheme off of!
What we love
Maisie and Cody worked their creative muscles hard and crafted a lot of their own projects for their wedding. Maisie designed, printed and heat embossed each invitation, assembled floral arrangements in hand-painted hurricane vases, and made earrings for each of her bridesmaids using fabric scraps left over from Cody’s tie and Swarovski crystals.
Advice from the couple
Maisie hopes future brides won’t be afraid to ask for help when they need it. She notes, “There is so much to do in the weeks leading up to a wedding, and it was such a relief to be able to ask friends and family for help when I needed it. This was especially true on our wedding day, as I was able to sit back and enjoy each moment as opposed to worrying about all the details.”
