"As the Michigan winter rolls around, the weddings slow down and all seems to go quiet," Emily Goward of In the Details Weddings shares. "I love using the off-season to explore and be creative so as soon as weddings slowed down I naturally began designing my next big project!" Flexing her creative muscles, Emily thought up this winter-inspired shoot filled with crisp whites, soft blues and accents of gold.
Immediately, Emily began puling her ideas together on Pinterest. She came up with a perfectly elegant yet modern shoot with plenty of texture and detail. "I quickly began reaching out to wedding creatives with my mood board and in one short week, I had the dream team of vendors excited about my vision and ready to execute with professionalism and ambition," Emily raves. "I can confidently say that each of these vendors can provide you, as a bride, with quality service and an amazing end product." We think this shoot came together perfectly and looks absolutely stunning.
We love the white brick walls and the natural light of the venue. Emily was drawn to how much of a blank slate it was. She could really see her vision coming to life in the space. "The point of this shoot was not to make too bold of a statement but it also wasn’t to create something trendy. It was to look at what has been beautiful for ages and what will continue to be beautiful in years to come and meld those together," Emily explains. The main detail of the shoot was the flowers, and Emily didn't want anything to overwhelm that part of the shoot.
Emily went into the dress consultation not wanting any beading or lace or embellishments just a simple and elegant gown that is timeless. However, as soon as she saw this dress, she knew it was 'the one.' "When Ashley, our consultant, brought out the lace top for the dress I fell in love! I thought it was the perfect touch for the bride to add on at the reception," Emily gushes. They kept the bride's hair timeless with a simple updo, and her makeup was neutral to accent her true beauty.
"I loved every single element from this shoot but looking back, the dessert table was my favorite!" Emily admits. "We spend so much time making sure the florals and décor are cohesive with the design, so why does dessert so often get overlooked?" All the desserts Emily chose look so delicious and fit together beautifully with this shoot. We almost don't want to eat any of them!
