Savana and Andrew started their connection when they both decided to swipe right on Tinder while studying law and medicine in college. It wasn’t until four and a half years later that Andrew popped the question on a family trip to Hawaii. While waiting for dinner reservations, Andrew took Savana down to the beach. “There, I saw rose petals in the shape of the heart on the sand. His whole family was waiting for me,” Savana fondly recalls.
Though Andrew chose the ring himself, he had some help from his soon-to-be mother-in-law, who works in a jewelry store. Savana says, “It was a really special moment both my mom and Andrew got to share together.” The ring is an round-cut diamond with an underhalo encased by a white-gold band with diamonds.
Savana knew exactly who she wanted to provide her with a classic and timeless engagement photo session. “It was a no-brainer that I would hire Niki Marie Photography. She is simply the best Michigan has to offer,” Savana gushes. “Niki also is able to capture those moments that can never be recreated or staged.” The couple decided to pair the elegance of the Detroit Institute of Art and The Fox Theater to give their shoot that vintage feel.
