"Lali Hess & Juniper Spoon has to be hands down, one of the most thoughtful, creative catering businesses out there. We were set on the local food aspect, but it was Lali and her attention to detail and overall ability to make our wedding food all about us and our specific interests and tastes that won us over! So many compliments from our guests on the delicious food and yet another job well done by Lali and her amazing staff! She is worth every penny and more! Kudos, Juniper Spoon, and thank you!"

What sets you apart from others? Why should a bride choose you?

"Working at The Juniper Spoon is more than just a job; each of the employees is proud to be an important component of our social entrepreneurial environment. We create eye-catching tablescapes, seasonal arrangements, unique presentations, and of course, incredible food inspired by our travels, farming experience, and cooking expertise. Our beautiful one-acre garden lies just feet from The Juniper Spoon kitchen where we grow everything from heirloom tomatoes to juicy peaches to exotic herbs like thai, basil and lemongrass.

Our dedication to sustainability and eating local runs deep in our day to day catering operations.  Lali’s husband, Doug, runs the garden and composting system, ensuring there is no food waste. We use compostable paper products--making it possible for our clients to have a one-hundred percent single-use plastic-free event!"

What do you love most about working with couples?

"We love working with our couples to create a perfect menu for them. Finding ways of incorporating local ingredients into traditional Midwestern dishes, while adding surprising touches of global flavors is one of our favorite strategies to please all guests. So many couples live in other areas and choose to get married where they grew up or where they met in college No matter the menu idea or wedding theme, we are able to add that local flare. It’s a little taste of 'home.'"
