Alyssa Schultz of Mae Photo Co. had the vision to create a shoot with colorful allure. Desiring to feature the color pink and its upbeat, fun vibe — Alyssa and the team put together a powerful shoot that celebrates bold style choices. Alyssa says, “The vision of this shoot was all based on creating something colorful. I wanted to create something that was a colorful inspiration for upcoming brides. I think so many brides are used to seeing the neutral backdrops or backdrops of greenery; I wanted to show future brides that there are other really fun options that would make their wedding images stand out from the rest.”

The bridal look was the highlight of this shoot. Audrey Hoag of Linnae Salon says, “I was inspired by something classic and soft for the first look. Then, I wanted to present something more creative and free-flowing for the second look, a free-flowing braided style seemed like a great way to add to such a unique collaboration”.

The dress had to align with this soft, feminine look. Alyssa and Audrey went to BIANKA Bridal in Grand Rapids to find the perfect gown. They ended up choosing the Harley gown by Hayley Paige, Alyssa notes, “With so many dresses to pick from, we fell in love with the unique aspects of this dress. Mostly the lines of the dress made it something I have never photographed before. Not only were the lines incredible but so were the removable, off-the-shoulder sleeve, the pleated ball gown skirt and the high slit of the dress.”

The backdrop for this shoot was one of the center points of the shoot. Alyssa says, “The fun colors of the bouquets paired with the light pink backdrop created a cheerful and whimsical inspiration. The color palette of oranges, pinks, purples and yellows created a lot of pop in the images and kept with our theme of being all around colorful. Ultimately the inspiration behind the shoot was a bright yellow brick wall.”
