Kali from Occasions by K wanted to create a shoot that was reminiscent of a whimsical garden. "I wanted to have florals that you don't see very often like a garden," Kali explains. "I always have an idea for the shoot, but I like when the vendors make their own twist to it." We love the way all the vendors brought this fantastical shoot to life!

Being the wedding coordinator at The Crystal Coop, Kali knew this place was the perfect venue for this style shoot. Kali raves, "Although it is a barn, it does not give off the barn feel. This venue can pull off any style of wedding. The white-washed wall inside the barn makes it very easy to decorate." The venue provides a perfect setting for both indoor and outdoor weddings, and we love how Kali chose to bring both together so beautifully.

Kali hadn't seen many weddings that included bright pops of color this year, so she decided to follow trends and create a moody shoot with the color in the flowers. Since the inspiration for this shoot was a whimsical garden scene, all kinds of flowers and plants filled this stunning shoot. "I wanted to add the boxwood wall to the head table as we have been seeing that everywhere," Kali shares. Many of the rentals including the linens and china were from the rental company where Kali serves as operations manager. Kali enjoyed the chance to show off their new and expansive collection. And we love the addition of the neon sign on the boxwood wall!

"I gave the florist an idea that I was going for and let her run with floral choices. I did give her a color scheme but let her choose what flowers to work with," Kali says. "I did ask for lots of texture so we incorporated magnolia leaves, oranges and pinecones." They also tried to branch away from typical colors they've seen this year. Warm oranges, yellows and reds were the many color scheme for this shoot instead of blues and burgundies.

The hardest part of this shoot was finding a dress for the bride to wear. With COVID, many bridal salons are hesitant to let dresses be borrowed or taken out of the store. Luckily, Kali was able to find a shop in Utah that was willing to send her a dress to use for this shoot. "I knew it was the one. This dress fit the garden's whimsical theme that I was going for. I wanted to get a fun dress for the photographers as well, so they could have a fun dress to work with," Kali gushes. Both hair and makeup were kept rather simple to not take away from the shoot but to highlight the bride's beauty. Kali knew she wanted to utilize the floral hat, which was fun to work with!
