The Vision

Burns Special Events set out to create a design that mixed hot trends with natural elements for our spring/summer Northern Indiana cover shoot. Their talented team found beautiful and stunning ways to incorporate subtle nature-inspired décor items and a neutral color scheme to bring a simply elegant wedding scene to life. We love the way this design marries those two ideas into a perfect setup that VanderHoff Studio captured flawlessly with her artistic eye!

The Decor

The design is in the details in this dreamy shoot! There are so many thoughtful details that Burns Special Events included to make this shoot even more gorgeous. Some of our favorites are the patterned dining plates, the textured tablecloths, all of the elegant crystal glassware and the candles that make the space feel more intimate. We love that Burns utilized wooden-backed chairs to balance the opulence of the tablescape and further enhance the natural theme!

The Venue

The Blue Teal is an elegant and spacious venue that features many natural elements built into the space. There’s plenty of natural light through the large windows, an ornate stone fireplace and modern chandeliers. We also adore the simplistic elegance that makes this venue stand out, like the neutral walls and vaulted beam ceilings.

The Florals

Various blooms were used in this shoot to add texture and reinforce the natural theme of this shoot. Burns Special Events selected tulips, hyacinth, playa blanca rose, campanula, dahlia, ranunculus, carnations, Italian ruscus, plumosa, cosmos, waxflower, Queen Anne’s lace and stock. We love how these different types of flowers add interest while staying in a neutral palette!

The Stationery

Singsolo Designs kept the stationery simply elegant with a combination of script and classic serif fonts. The artwork on the envelope liner plays off the natural theme and creates an unexpected surprise for the recipients. We also love the inclusion of the wax seals and illustrations for even more opulence!

The Looks

We utilized three different dresses from David’s Bridal for our blushing bride! The ceremony gown was timeless with its classic silhouette but versatile with its detachable skirt. For the reception, our bride wore a beaded slip dress with just a touch of vintage style. Finally, a strapless midi dress with detachable puff sleeves was utilized for dancing the night away! BÜK Weddings styled her hair in a half-up, half-down look with classic curls and a floral crown instead of the traditional veil. Jenn Martz Makeup Artistry kept the makeup more natural, giving the bride a shimmery eyelid, glowing cheeks and a neutral lip color.

The Cake & Catering

Just look at this delicious three-tiered masterpiece from C’est La Vie Cakes! The stunning green textured frosting mirrors the head table tablecloth perfectly. And we love how the overflowing florals are perfect for spring! Nelson's Catering brought in a delicious plated spread including chicken marsala, Parisian carrots and stuffed ravioli. Talk about mouthwatering!
