Winter offers some of the most beautiful landscapes and is a source of inspiration for many creative minds. We are in love with the vision inspired by winter from this style shoot team. Shot by Gabriella Sutherland Photography and designed by Tyler Toles and Dashing Designs LLC, this shoot invites a romantic, illustrious edge to winter. Gabriella says, “The vision of this winter styled shoot was a collaboration between Tyler Toles (the designer of the shoot) and Danielle (the florist). They noticed that winter was such an undervalued time to get married and wanted to design a shoot that showed the beauty of getting married in the winter months. This shoot was an expression of the beautiful lighting, deep sky tones and colors that wintertime gives us.”
In order to pull off this bold shoot, the team would need the perfect venue to shoot at. Gabriella adds, “This venue was chosen because we wanted to show off the newly built barn at Blystone Farm that was only a few weeks old at the time. It had beautiful, warm wood tones inside of the barn that reflected the winter style perfectly.” Those natural wood textures were ideal for adding warmth and organic vibes to the shoot. The team used a wintry color palette, utilizing those moody blues and grays that only winter holds.
The bridal look was quintessential to the shoot. It had to reflect the soft, deep hues from the shoot yet remain modern and elegant. Gabriella says, “The wedding dress, by Lisa Emerita, was designed with multiple layers and with the perfect accessory, a feather jacket. It had long sleeves made from lace to keep warm. It was perfect for this winter shoot, expressing the flow of nature and multiple layers to keep warm in addition to the feathered jacket piece.”
It is hard to not notice the incredible florals in this shoot. “The flowers were made from silk, says Gabriella. “The focus was on lots of greens for winter, therefore it was ideal to have a limited number of flowers in the décor. Eucalyptus was a favorite because it has a frosted look to it. The focus on flowers was mainly meant for the bouquet only, making it stand out more. The bouquet had touches of winter blue in it, that tied in with the beautifully designed tablescape with the blue table napkins. The table had small touches of blue and gray with mainly lots of greenery.”
