An Orangic, Outdoor Wedding in Central Indiana: The Wedding of Katie and Jordan Kester

Katie and Jordan met through Katie's mom and Jordan’s brother-in-law. Katie’s mom was at her friend’s house where she saw a young man that she thought would match her daughter perfectly. Unfortunately, that young man was married. However, Katie says, “He later came back and told my mom that his brother-in-law was single. So, long story short, they exchanged Instagram handles and gave them to each of us. Jordan direct messaged me first, introducing himself. We messaged back and forth and later exchanged phone numbers. He asked me out on a date a couple of days later, and it was the most amazing first date I had ever been on.”

It wasn’t too long before that amazing first date led to wedding plans. Katie says, “I knew that I wanted our wedding to be classy, fun and natural. We love nature, so we wanted lots of geodes and greenery. We wanted to get married outside in the summer and then have a reception nearby inside.” It turned out that The Lodge at River Valley Farm was that perfect venue for an outdoor atmosphere that was still elegant.

Keeping that organic, natural feeling in mind, Katie and Jordan starting planning the wedding of their dreams. They found vendors that met their every desire, especially their photographer, Cassie. She has a light and airy style that Katie just loves!

The couple kept some elements of their wedding trendy. “I wanted a geode cake, something that was not the typical bridal cake,” says Katie. “We went to about seven or eight different cake places, trying to find someone to create a cake like the one I wanted. We found Ashley at Itty Bitty Bakery, and she created exactly what I wanted and we stayed in budget. Plus, the cake tasted just as good!” Katie also utilized geode-like elements in her jewelry for an overall fairytale-like feeling.
