Stormie and Michael met through family. Stormie says, “My brother and my husband were best friends, and we went to church together. I have always been in love with him and wanted him to be my husband. 10-year-old me was right about my future!” This couple knew from day one that they wanted to be together and this wedding is a true celebration of that love!
Stormie and Michael just wanted to get married—there was no individual vision. Stormie adds, “I knew I didn’t want a traditional wedding and that my dog would be in it. I love vivid and warm colors, and to be in an amazing lighting atmosphere – I wanted our guests to love what they were looking at, and to feel like they were at their family’s table.” That warm vision truly came to life with warm accents in the decor, a relaxed, outdoor ceremony and (of course) a dog!
What we love
We always get so excited when families make a dream wedding come to life. Stormie and her mom worked side by side to create this truly joyful atmosphere. Stormie says, “My wedding was almost completely D.I.Y. My mom is a creative genius and made my visions come to life. She watched YouTube videos to learn how to do macramé and my maid of honor built the wood arch that it hung on.” Creating your own pieces for your big day can make it all the more special.
Advice from the bride
Stormie says, “Don’t freak out if you’re freaking out – talk to trusted friends and family members, and remember how blessed you are to be getting married to your best friend, take it seriously and be there for your person.”
