Like most of us, Cassandra, owner of Native Northern Photography loves fall. She also recognizes that often autumn-inspired weddings fall into the same routine of dark colors, apples, leaves and cider. "I wanted to go in a different direction and use fall elements without 'overdoing it,'" says Cassandra. The desire to avoid the normal fall elements led the vendor team to choose a pastel color palette and choose peaches over apples!
The stylized wedding took place at Stony Creek Metropark amongst the ruins of The Sheldon Estate. The wooded area and the feel of the estate ruins offered a perfect balance of whimsical and rustic. The couple featured is married in real life, and many elements of their wedding and personal tastes were incorporated. The bride wore her dress from her wedding and she also did her own hair and makeup as she does beauty for a living! Some of the decorative touches used were also taken from the couple's own home. The groom built the table and had re-purposed the chairs. "I felt that since they were already married, we needed to add personal touches from their real wedding or their personal life," says Cassandra. "The silverware, crystal, cake cutter and other elements are heirlooms and real pieces from their big day."
Add a few stunning dahlias and a pumpkin cake with cream cheese frosting and this fall-but-not-fall style shoot was brilliant.
