This creative team got together with the goal of creating a wedding scene completely comprised of the 2024 Pantone Color of the Year, Peach Fuzz! However, the idea grew when they wanted to feature an LGBTQ+ couple in the shoot. "This vision was wanting to highlight the color of the year and do an all peach wedding! The inspo for the dark colors was wanting to highlight an LGBTQ couple as well as get some great fall spooky vibes," Lexi Brown, the coordinator for this shoot, shares.
In order to pull this shoot off, the team needed a venue that could accommodate both the edgy, dark side of the shoot as well as the light and modern side. They happened to find the perfect venue that comes with unmatched aesthetics! Lexi explains, "This venue has the potential to be moody yet also beautifully light. The castle vibes are like nothing else Grand Rapids has to offer." We love the way that the venue truly is a blank slate that works for both of these opposing themes.
Both of these themes had specific visions that the team wanted to achieve. With the peach side, the team wanted it to be light and elegant yet modern. Since peach is projected to be a popular color this spring and summer wedding season, the team decided to show how you could get the most out of this one color without being too overwhelming. There are plenty of white details in the tablescape to help balance the brightness of the peach color. In the darker portion of the shoot, the team wanted a romantic and moody air. While the colors are dark and bold, they still managed to achieve a romantic look with candles and, our favorite detail, crystals!
Since there were two themes, two separate dresses were needed. The dress for the peach shoot is an elegant and sleek satin gown that was selected for its chic and modern look, which fit with the theme. We love the unique sleeve and bunched design at the beginning of the skirt. The team also incorporated bridesmaids in beautiful peach gowns for this theme. The light and airy bride was styled with peachy makeup and classic curls. As for the moody theme, a black dress was an easy choice! We are obsessed with the maroon suit jacket for this look, too! The hair and makeup was styled with a slightly darker look and a fun half-up, half-down 'do.
For this shoot, two separate floral color schemes were used. In the peach scene, there are plenty of pink, peach and yellow flowers for a light and bright look. In the moody scene, lots of rich red and deep purple flowers were used. As for cake, this shoot had two! We love the citrus inspired cake for the peach side of the shoot. The cake for the moody shoot also looks delicious with the classic saying, "Til death do us part" written on the top of it.
