Sara and Peter met a few times throughout their college career at Purdue, but went on their first date set up through mutual friends to a formal! The couple continued hanging out the following weeks, and soon a relationship was born.
Peter proposed on New Year’s Eve by Cataract Falls in Indiana--a holiday proposal by a waterfall, now how more romantic can that get? “Peter and I walked out onto one of the rocks to have a better view of the falls,” Sara recalls. “I curled up to his side and laid my head on his shoulder and could hear his heart pounding! Out of habit, I asked if he was okay, which prompted him to pull away and kneel. He asked if I would marry him, and I said 'yes.'”
We adore the simple yet elegant style of that ring. While the couple went ring shopping together, Peter had the final say. Sara says he did a great job, and we wholeheartedly agree! Sara says, “I wanted a classic ring with some details to make it unique and this ring for sure fit every wish! It complements my style and personality. The best part is when Peter saw it, he knew it was the ring for me.”
Sara and Peter didn’t want to spend a lot of money on their outfits for this session, so they focused on colors that complemented each other but weren’t too distracting. Sara explains, “We both have green eyes, so I wanted to pick at least one outfit that really emphasized them. Overall, I made sure the outfits were comfortable and complemented who we are. It was challenging but came together really well!” Special thanks to Julie from Simply Seeking Photography for taking all of these gorgeous photos!
This couple’s wedding planning experience is going well, so far! Sara notes, “I was able to knock out a lot of big decisions right away and have been gradually planning since then. I really enjoy event planning, so I have taken this opportunity to dream big and think of various ways for me to challenge myself without breaking the budget.”
