A Romantic and Elegant Detroit E-Session: The Engagement of Makayla and Will

These high school sweethearts met while they were both on the wrestling team. After graduating from high school, Makayla and Will went on to graduate from Central Michigan University. During a vacation in the Bahamas, Will said he needed to change his shoes to walk on the beach after they had been taking pictures in Nassau. To get Makayla's attention, he called her name and when she turned around, he was down on one knee!
 

Look at Makayla's gorgeous engagement ring! This classic and timeless round gemstone is absolutely stunning. "I made a Pinterest board with all the rings that I liked and hinted at maybe once or twice...or too many times," Makayla shares. "What I love most is the symbolism as it represents our commitment together." With the white-gold band, this ring is classically elegant!
 

When it came to selecting the location for their engagement shoot, Makayla desired the regal air of the Fisher Building and the romantic atmosphere in the landscape at the Detroit Institute of Art. With those two elegant places in mind, Makayla and Will made sure their outfits matched that vibe. Makayla explains, "We knew we wanted to style ourselves to fit this atmosphere and have fun dressing up in a building that we knew would still be relevant in years to come." We love the pearl details along the neckline of Makayla's second dress!
 

Makayla had ideas in mind, but wedding planning has taken her down a different path. "Of course everyone has a dream wedding in mind before they get engaged, but then the question gets popped and suddenly a whole new world greets you with different styles and tastes you didn’t even realize were an option," Makayla admits. So far, they've enjoyed the wedding planning process and putting their minds together to make their dream wedding come to life. Most of all, they both can't wait to be married to their soul mate!
