Rustic and Modern with a Pop of Color: A Middletown, Indiana Style Shoot

Sometimes a planner has an idea and has to find the perfect venue to bring it to life. Other times, the venue finds the planner. "This shoot was inspired by the venue and florals!" Lilly of Events by Lilly shares. "We are loving the trends of more intimate wedding ceremonies dripping with unique details and colors!" With the help of an incredible creative team, they brought to life a whimsical and modern shoot in a rustic venue.
 

Willow Acres Weddings and Events is truly a venue for any theme. The subtle rustic touches blend naturally with anything and are a planner's dream to design around. Lilly raves, "Everything turned out better than I could've ever imagined, thanks to all my vendors that participated." Lilly brought together a dream creative team to make her vision a reality, and we have Heather Sherrill Photography to thank for beautifully capturing this light and airy shoot!
 

The idea for the color scheme was to add bright tones to an almost completely white backdrop. They landed on golds, greens, burnt oranges, corals, and purple elements to create subtle color bursts. We are absolutely obsessed with the way everything came together in the tablescape. It brings a sense of regality to an already gorgeous scene! The gold details are stunning and luxurious. We also love the mixture of real and artificial flowers to create even more texture in this shoot. The colors really pop out of those arrangements!
 

"The dresses are also a standout piece bringing unique texture and colors," Lilly explains. The contrast between the bride's detailed gown and the velvet of the bridesmaids' dresses is gorgeous. There is also a lot of contrast between the two bridesmaids' dresses even though they blend beautifully together. We love the pairing of the rich green and that bright pink. All of these stunning gowns and tuxedos from Sophia's Bridal and Tux fit the theme perfectly!
 

Let's talk about that scrumptious cake! The thin layer of frosting is a very simple and modern style for cake design, which is just what this shoot needed to not pull away from the extravagant detailing on the tablescape. Keeping such a thin layer of frosting also brings more texture to the cake, like Lilly wanted. The addition of the floral pieces around the cake was a stroke of genius to make it match the theme even more. The stationery from PSR Designs bring another pop of color and modernity to this shoot with the use of pink paper and accents!
