Though Dan knew Taylor while he was in high school, they never really talked since Taylor's dad was his hockey coach and had strict rules about dating his daughter. Dan moved to the Florida Keys after high school but bumped into Taylor on a visit to Michigan, and they instantly felt drawn to one another. After moving to the Keys with him, Taylor fell in love with a specific sandbar Dan would take her to, so Dan knew it was the perfect place to propose!
Finding Taylor's ring was a moment of fate. While strolling around Key West, Dan and Taylor decided to talk to a jeweler. She described her perfect ring—a round diamond with a hidden halo and diamonds along the thin band. The jeweler did not have the ring on-hand but offered to custom-make it for them. Just as he went to size Taylor, he remembered a custom-made ring he already had in the back. Taylor gushes, "It was a cushion diamond instead of a round diamond, which made it even more beautiful. He never ended up sizing me because it not only fit what I wanted perfectly, but it also fit me perfectly!"
Erin Moore of Sweet Lemon Drop Photography has actually become a close friend of Taylor. "I have always loved her pictures and the natural feel to them. They never look posed, and always show the personalities of the couple, family or person being featured," Taylor raves. "I think that is SO important when finding a photographer." Not only did the couple love her photos, they also love her personality and how easy it was to grow close to her in their initial video meeting. Erin was even able to help the happy couple figure out timelines and a few other key details to help their planning process run smoother.
Taylor was torn between a spring wedding and a New Year's Eve wedding. After going back and forth for a while, they came to a decision. "We kept coming back to the same theme—PARTY! So we decided what better time for a party and celebration than on New Year's Eve," Taylor explains. Despite feeling some initial stress when planning, Taylor has everything booked so she can enjoy her time as a fiancée and spend time with her husband-to-be!
