Cassandra originally met Devin in passing during their small town’s Oktoberfest. When she reconnected with him through mutual friends, she knew he was worth getting to know more! After two years of blissful dating, Devin popped the question during a Christmas photo shoot.
Cassandra fell in love with her dress the moment she saw the layers--and feeling cozy in it didn’t hurt, too! We love a gown that a bride can be comfortable in.
The pair hand-picked their preferred vendors, but COVID-19 had other plans. Deciding to postpone a larger celebration until later in the year, Cassandra and Devin still got to say their “I dos” on their original ceremony date. Cassandra’s twin sister offered her backyard as the perfect secluded setting for this intimate celebration.
what we love
Family came first on this couple’s big day. Cassandra’s uncle was their officiant, and Devin’s two children were included in the ceremony as well! “Nolan was so responsible for being on ring guard all day. He did a great job of keeping the wedding bands with him and keeping an eye on it when others had to use them (such as for photographs). At the end of the ceremony, Harper sang Mandy Moore’s Only Hope.”
Advice from the couple
“If we learned anything during the pandemic, it is to be flexible and to remember what marriage is all about,” Cassandra says. “At the end of the day, we were married so it is important to not let the details that were outside of our control stress us out.”
