A Traverse City Vineyard Wedding: The Real Wedding of Madison and Lauren Carlson

The engagement of Madison and Lauren was simply picture perfect! The couple was taking photos with their family (plus their two golden retrievers) when they decided to play a game. Lauren remembers, “Madison asked to play a game where we stand back to back, and on the count of three say something we love about each other. On the third turn around, Maddi was holding a ring.”

Lauren and Maddi had such similar tastes in dresses, they had to show their friends their top choices so they didn’t end up picking the exact same dress! Lauren says she bought the first one she tried on, while Madison tried on seven until she found a style she loved. The wait was worth it--don't these ladies look stunning?

This couple knew Traverse City, Michigan was the spot they’d say “I do,” so they had to determine a venue. They wanted it to be an intimate ceremony that would live on in their memories for years to come. The couple notes, “We knew we wanted a vineyard setting with a barn but didn’t want to be too rustic.” We’re so happy with what they found!

What we love

This pair is self-proclaimed dog lovers, so they incorporated their pets in their big day! Lauren says, “Madison had their photo around her bouquet (a wedding day gift from me), we had them on our programs and we named our signature cocktails after them.”

Advice from the couple

Lauren and Maddi urge future couples to make their day unique to you by adding in personal touches. “Personal touches are what made ours feel romantic and a lot of our guests noticed them. Also, the more detail you put into your day-of timeline the easier your day will go! We personalized everyone’s with highlights for them to pay attention to and made screenshots for easy access on their phones.”
