The Wedding Story of Chelsea and Josh Broxson

Chelsea and Josh and originally met through a dating app. With Josh in the U.S. Navy, the couple had to make a long distance relationship work for two years before tying the knot.

One of Chelsea’s family traditions is an annual Fourth of July camping trip on her grandma’s property. The year Josh joined the trip, he took Chelsea to her favorite place on the property, the hammock, and proposed to his love.

As the first to get married in her family, Chelsea headed straight to the Internet, relying on online resources, including WeddingDay! The bride says, “During our venue search, a lot of venues gave us the latest subscription of the magazine. My bridesmaids and I would sit and go through the beautiful weddings and gather ideas. I also came across the website via Pinterest and used it for inspiration.” Since Chelsea was still in school, her mom and sister were also a huge help.

The couple’s venue was the perfect spot for their rustic-themed wedding, complete with a friendly staff. Chelsea also creatively infused her space with navy, blush and gold accents and budget-friendly finds. She says, “Almost everything at the wedding was reused or D.I.Y. I was a bride on a budget so D.I.Y. projects and Michael’s coupons were my saving grace.”

Chelsea fell in love with her Allure Bridals sweetheart ball gown from Kathryn’s Bridal.

The extra special touches proved to be the small number of guests and and a video of a “advice” Chelsea’s sister and Maid of Honor created. “She played it after her speech, and it brought tears to my eyes,” Chelsea says. “It’s definitely something I will cherish forever.”
