Lindsay and Keith and met in their 2nd grade classroom and reconnected over 20 years later. When the two planned an annual spring trip to visit Keith’s parents in Phoenix, they also thought it would be nice to add in a getaway to Vegas as well. Lindsay says,“Little did I know what he had up his sleeve (or hiding in his shoes, I should say). I’m a huge lover of all things Paris and all I knew was that we were going to Vegas. He left out all the fun details as a surprise. When we pulled into Paris Paris, I began screaming like a toddler on Christmas morning. I made a dash out the door and straight for the Eiffel Tower, just to relish in it all. Before I knew it, Keith was on one knee and proposing to me under the Eiffel Tower. I had zero idea that was on the agenda. He did an excellent job planning—even having someone take our photos from afar and completely leaving me in the dark about it.”

Lindsay and Keith liked the idea of taking their time to plan the perfect day without feeling rushed or so focused on planning. Lindsay says, “So we started with the time of year we’d like to get married, researched venues and everything sort of pieced together very easily from there.”

Loving all things girly, Lindsay knew she wanted something elegant, classy and pink! “The color scheme was my starting point,” she says, “and inspiration from there made the details much easier.” Using a ton of Pinterest inspo for floral ideas and décor, Lindsay’s full vision came to life once she got her dress.

Lindsay describes that moment saying, “My mom wanted to go look at dresses just us two, with no intention on buying one. She wanted that mother/daughter moment and I’m so glad it was just us. We went to David’s Bridal, as it just seemed like the obvious place in our area to shop. After trying on way too many dresses and not really feeling that feeling people describe when they find the IT dress, my mom came to me with one more. Well, I put on the last dress she found, walked out of the room, and there were the tears. It was the dress. I never thought I’d like it, was even reluctant to put it on but, oh my goodness, it was beyond perfect! It was different, unique and as my mom would say, ‘That’s a Lindsay dress.’ It was designed by Oleg Cassini and in the true fashion of my mother, it was on clearance.”

Desiring something different in a venue, the two talked to a lot of people and researched a lot of areas. “When we realized the Indianapolis Arts Garden did weddings, we were sold,” Lindsay says. “It was a done deal and love at first sight. It was beyond perfect with the indoor trees and lights to give us that outdoor vibe we wanted.”

Lindsay says, “I was a very lucky bride in having a whole team of people help execute the picture perfect wedding I had envisioned. I had two wedding coordinators from Conrad, a hired wedding planner through a family friend and two wedding designers--our dear friends that have known me since I was a teenager. Between everyone, I was able to have this beautiful, elegant and Pinterest perfect wedding. My first words when I saw the venue all set up was, ‘Wow, my entire Pinterest page just came to life.’”

WHAT WE LOVE

It’s amazing how much sentimentality can go into the big day and it’s truly touching when brides get especially creative in ensuring what’s important to them is infused into their special day. Lindsay says, “I knew I wanted my something old, new, borrowed and blue to be special and that I wanted to look back on those things and remember them fondly. So my something old was my great-grandmother’s handkerchief, something new was my gift from my husband, a diamond necklace he created and had made for me. My something borrowed was my mother’s pearl ring she received as a gift from my grandfather when he returned from Vietnam, and my something blue was my grandfather’s nick name I gave him and his initial sewed into the sash of my dress.” Another favorite detail of Lindsay’s was her beloved basket full of flip flops reserved for dancing the night away!
