In today’s dating world, online dating forums are becoming more and more popular and definitely worked for this happy couple. Lindsey says, “We met on Tinder! I was hanging out the summer before my senior year at Indiana University, and Andy was living and working in Indianapolis. We didn't take Tinder very seriously until we started talking and realized, ‘Hey I think I really, really like this person!’. We met in person about a week after communicating via text and phone calls for dinner and drinks.”
The couple’s planning included booking their preferred venue, Biltwell Event Center, first. They loved the large windows and incredible view of downtown Indianapolis. Lindsey says, “After that, I think you get a much better feel for what you want your wedding to be like. Then, we went through and starting checking the big items off the list like photography, musicians, videography and getting a dress.”
Lindsey knew she wanted all of their friends and family to be there, plenty of drinks to go around and great music. She says, “My sister went to school for event management at Indiana University and has worked a number of weddings...Our inspiration was pulled from many places but she thought of a lot of things herself. I wanted a fresh, spring feel with pops of color (knowing weather is always a little dicey in March) to brighten things up. Stephanie took this and ran with it giving me the most amazing wedding!"
What We Love
Lindsey says, “My 14-year-old sister, Meredith, sang Andy Grammer’s I Choose You, and she and her friend, Charlie, did a duet to Only Us from Dear Evan Hansen. Talk about a tear-jerker! I think this is one of my favorite parts of the wedding!” She adds, “We also had a great family friend, James Kelly, design watercolor menus/bar signs. They were absolutely gorgeous and something I think a lot of guests might remember.”
We also love that WeddingDay was able to help with Lindsey’s planning. She says, “I see the magazine at various stores and also at a bridal expo! I used WeddingDay Magazine in the beginning to flip through various images of weddings to help me get a feel for what I wanted at my wedding! It was very helpful. Much easier seeing something that had been done by someone ‘local’ (Midwest) versus Pinterest, which can sometimes give you unrealistic expectations.”
Advice from the Bride
This #HappilyEverHehman bride says, “I’m not sure if there’s any easy way to make your way around to everybody, and I hate knowing I didn’t get to give everyone a hug and thank them for coming. A videographer is well worth it though—just so you can relive your day over and over again.”
