Vivian and Mark first laid eyes on each other while attending Indiana University, Bloomington. Vivian says, “From the very start, he was intelligent, handsome and so funny. It’s weird to say, but I knew he was the one.” The two were officially engaged on New Year’s Eve and began to envision the wedding of their dreams.
As the two began to plan their Indiana State Museum wedding in the beautiful city of Indianapolis, they seamlessly blended not only cultures but the timeless elements that made it so beautiful, classic and elegant. With picturesque downtown and The Canal as their backdrop, their gorgeous venue became the place for their soft pink decor, donut bar and very unique signature cocktails! Vivian explains, “We really wanted our three cats to be a part of our wedding! One way we were able to do that was to have signature cocktails named after each of them. We tried to match the drinks to their personalities as well, so ‘The Ollie’ was a sweet and pretty drink, ‘The Pete’ was a refreshing and very orange drink, and ‘The Goody’ was strong and definitely unique”
Instead of favors, the couple donated to the Humane Society of Indianapolis. Vivian says, “Mark also got socks with our cats’ faces (‘given’ to him by our cats), and he was able to wear one pair as he walked down the aisle!”.
Vivian’s D.I.Y. projects include table numbers, a mailbox card holder, welcome mirror and escort cards.
Advice from the bride
This #LiechtyinLove bride says, “Ensure you factor any linen rentals and service charges into your budget calculations! We were surprised at how much the linens cost to rent and the service charge was so much more than we had anticipated.”
