Wild at Heart: A Vow Renewal at Rocky Hollow Trail

Mother Nature can be a powerful element when it comes to nuptials. There’s nothing quite like the canopy of tree coverage, raw, gorgeous greenery and peaks of sunshine to evoke romance, intimacy and, in this case, a sense of awe.

The lovely models, in fact, exchanged vows in Turkey Run State Park, the shoot’s beautiful location, 10 years ago. Violet of Violet Short Photography says, “Working alongside Ashley of Wildwood Floral Co. to create the look for this styled vow renewal was such a dream. We knew we wanted to showcase Indiana in a way that America might not expect. This was such a special shoot, and it was so much fun to spend it with two lovers celebrating 10 years of wedded bliss in the place it all started.”

The rocks and hills were the biggest inspiration for the earthy tones and unique décor that expertly complemented the rugged and dramatic setting. Wildflowers in a wide array of violet and lavender hues added depth and color to the moody scenes while lovely, hand-painted cookies and pastries added even more detail and texture.

The bride’s gorgeous, slinky and antique-inspired gown was light enough for her to roam the woods in. "Gibson Girl" hair styled by Something Blue Stylists and ultra soft makeup completed the look.
