When Alonah and Austin started working at Chipotle while they were in college, they never expected to meet their person. They started dating in 2018 and have been together ever since! Austin decided to propose to Alonah in 2023. "Austin proposed at a local sunflower field where every year we would visit as I adore sunflowers—hence why he chose a ring that resembles a sunflower. Although it was a public farm, it couldn’t have been more intimate; just the two of us," Alonah gushes.

Unlike some brides, Alonah knew exactly what she wanted when she went dress shopping. "I knew what I was looking for and was sold on my gown," Alonah explains. "However, I did not fully commit until I tried on several styles just to solidify it with no buyers remorse in sight." Alonah also decided to alter a few details of the dress like swapping the sleeves from long to a short off-the-shoulder style and adding a slit to the skirt. We think she made the right choice both in dress selection and in alterations because she looks absolutely stunning!

Since they decided to get married in the fall, Alonah and Austin leaned into fall colors and theming. The main colors were a warm terracotta and cool blue, since Alonah thinks Austin looks best in blue. They also knew they wanted to select a venue that had a beautiful outdoor area as well as a nice indoor option in case the unpredictable fall Indiana weather turned foul. The rest of their vendors—like Nelson's Catering, who provided the delicious food for their reception—came from social media posts and excellent online reviews.

What We Love

Even though they weren't there the day of the ceremony, Alonah and Austin found numerous ways to include their adorable cats in their big day! Alonah shares, "We included large cutouts of them to be used as photo-ops in our photo booth, included them in our cake topper and I surprised Austin with custom engraved cufflinks of the cats." Alonah and Austin also had a unique guest book, which featured their engagement photos as playing cards for guests to sign!

Advice from the Couple

Alonah advises, "Enjoy the stressful process as you only do it once! I did not have a wedding planner and did it all myself but gave myself timelines to follow, which is the best way to keep organized with the many checklists needed to be completed. I would also highly advise to wait to plan the honeymoon as we did not start planning ours until the wedding is over—it helps extend the bliss past your wedding week!"
