Get ready to rock with this submission to our 2019 Style Shoot Design Contest! Ashlee of Ashlee Cole Photography and florist Erin Reitzel of HannahSola wanted to shake up this alternative shoot with a glamorous punk-rock twist. This “Glamorous Grunge” shoot struck a chord in our hearts. We can’t wait to show you what this team came up with!

Ashley Farm was the perfect shoot location because of the variety of indoor and outdoor spaces. “Every room is different but cohesive,” Ashlee explains. “There are a variety of spaces available to couples and thanks to their creativity during the planning process we had no shortage of options to take portraits.” The team made use of the bridal suite, grooms barn and silo bar to craft a perfect grunge shoot!

“Non-traditional” was the goal behind the bride’s dress. We love how the gown highlights the model’s tattoos! To add a touch of tradition, the team picked out a cathedral veil with heavy beading. The braid work, paired with that dramatically moody red lip, shows that this bride is ready to rock!

This gorgeous, nontraditional bouquet was handpainted by HannahSola. Ashlee gushes that these moody wooden flowers find the space between “ugly and stunning,” which was ideal for a grunge shoot. “Erin’s vision was to cross the line of what a traditional wedding is all about,” Ashlee explains. “She wanted to encompass a couple that chooses to celebrate their unique side.”

This five-tier cake is absolutely breathtaking! The delicate cascade of grapes and flowers adds to the femininity of the shoot, without being overpowering. And can we talk about that topper? The unique welded metal piece gives off a personality of punk!
