This Airy Columbus Style Shoot Is Bursting With Color

We’re yearning for spring with this warm Ohio style shoot! Jessica of Jessica Photography notes that this joy-filled shoot was born after a brainstorming session with Maim Cakes and Perla Flor Designs. Shooting in Columbus, Ohio, the team wanted to create a shoot that had a modern and colorful vibe with touches of tradition.

 

The flowers on the cake look good enough to eat...and you can! “Every single flower and fruit on this cake is made of sugar,” Jessica gushes. “Scarlett of Miam Cakes is an amazing sugar and cake artist and designer.”

 

The open and airy setting in the city plays a huge part in the backdrop of this shoot. Jessica explains that the venue and view went hand-in-hand in showcasing all that Columbus has to offer!

 

The team picked a traditionally styled dress, but added a modern contrast with the bride’s boho hair. Jessica says, “We wanted the bride to be able to move for the pictures and not be restricted by a tight or non-flowing dress. We wanted the couple to be having fun and mix with laughing and lots of romance for the pictures and this dress allowed for this.”

 

The lush florals used in this shoot bring a delightful pop of color. The team sourced flowers from a local farm to add a touch of romance to this shoot’s palette. They wanted to touch on the trend of mixing bold and vibrant colors in a sophisticated design. “Outside of the box and new ideas were the goals,” Jessica adds.
