Sandra and Bily met at Erie Café in Chicago. She says, “I recall telling his friend ‘I am ready to get married, just find me a husband’ so he introduced me to the man of my dreams. We spent the whole month of August enjoying Chicago’s beautiful rooftops.” It was meant to be—a month alter Billy popped the question.

“He took me for a beautiful late birthday dinner at a restaurant called Bavette’s. After dinner, we walked to the river walk overlooking our beautiful city of Chicago. A couple minutes later of enjoying the magical view, he got on one knee and asked me to be the mother of his future children and his wife,” says Sandra. At first, she was in shock because they had only been dating for a month. But, she knew that this was her husband.

Sandra and Billy were married at Chicago’s City Hall. Far from the interiors of other city hall buildings—this historical building offers a gorgeous setting for couples tying the knot inside its walls. Sandra adds, “For my elopement ceremony, I chose to do it at City Hall because I really like their interiors. Our photographer was able to capture every detail from such a historical building.”

Sandra only had five days to choose her dress! With a tight timeline, she focused in on some inspiring looks. She says, “My inspiration for my dress was Meghan Markle. I wanted something simple, clean and classic. I found my dress at Nordstrom’s and it is from Ted Baker. I did try a bunch of dresses and my husband helped me chose the one!”

“Our ceremony was filled with unique touches that were very special to us,” says Sandra. “The first one was the "something blue” accessory. I was able to wear my grandma's blue diamond necklace; this was very special to me because she passed away many years ago, so I felt like she was part of my big day.” The couple also ran into Chance the Rapper on their big day. They even got the chance to snap a quick picture!

Sandra and Billy were able to celebrate their wedding in a way that was genuine to them. They even stopped for a romantic brunch at Three Arts Café! It was the perfect day!
