This Elegant Chicago Celebration is Full of Meaningful Touches: The Real Wedding of Kailey and David Moore

During their time in high school, Kailey and David met and started dating. Later on, when he was going to propose, David told Kailey they were going to a garden to take photos for his family's Christmas card. "Our proposal was incredible! We were surrounded by flowers and tons of greenery on a beautiful, sunny day!" Kailey raves. They ended up getting married just shy of their ten year dating anniversary!
 

The bridal salon where Kailey bought her dress wasn't the first stop that she went to, but she ended up choosing the dress partially because of the team at the store. Kailey recalls, "Truthfully, one of the main reasons why I ended up choosing my dress from the House of Brides was because the person who helped me was so laid back and calm about the experience. She never pushed me into making a quick decision, she was incredibly helpful and she accommodated those who came with me." Though the dress that Kailey ended up getting wasn't exactly what she had imagined herself in, she was immediately drawn to the floral details throughout the dress, which was a fitting nod to their floral-filled proposal. We think it looks absolutely beautiful on her!
 

"Our wedding didn’t technically have a theme, however, it did have modern and floral touches. Our venue definitely influenced many of our decorative choices," Kailey explains. "I was also inspired by the time of year we were getting married. Our color scheme included varying shades of neutral pink and orange tones." Combined with the natural greenery of the venue, we think this color scheme worked perfectly with their summer wedding. Danielle Schury Photography also made the colors pop right off the images with her talented eye and keen editing skills!
 

Their venue was also very helpful when it came to finding vendors that they would trust to make their wedding day a success. Kailey shares, "We chose many of our vendors through a list that the venue provided us with. The list included their five-star recommendations from previous weddings. These recommendations were great because not only are they highly rated but I also have the comfort of knowing that they have closely worked with our venue before so they are a reputable source!" The venue itself was chosen because Kailey and David fell in love with the natural beauty all around The Farmhouse Plainfield.
 

 

What We Love

One of the most special touches that Kailey and David had in their wedding was the music that they played. "Song choices were ones that we did not make lightly. Our first dance reflected the day he asked me to prom in high school, our cake cutting song was the first country song that we both shared a love for and the song that we chose to walk down the aisle to reflects our favorite TV show," Kailey gushes. All the choices they made for their wedding were done so to reflect those who impacted their lives up to that point, too. From their vows to their unity ceremony and even the cupcakes they chose, everything had a meaning that their guests may not have even noticed!
 

 

Advice from the couple

Kailey and David advise, "The best advice that I could give is to stress to your vendors what is important to you. Give yourself time to plan and think through what matters! Over communicating is better than not communicating enough. At the end of the day, as long as you get to marry the love of your life, it will be a beautiful day! But all of your planning and important details matter, too."
