As Abigail was finishing up her bartending shift at a steakhouse in Plainfield, a few patrons from the pub downstairs wandered up for a glass of wine. It wasn't unusual, but Abigail was shocked that it was a group of twenty-something men. The shy guy on the end with a nice smile and laugh immediately caught Abigail's eye! Ben returned a few more times hoping to catch her but ended up getting her number from a co-worker and took his shot. For Christmas 2023, Abigail surprised Ben with tickets to see his favorite comedian downtown Chicago. Ben took the time to get together with Abigail's best friend—and photographer—to find a spot to pop the question. Due to weather, he had to think quick on his feet and thought of a "travel-themed, pop-up bar in Union Station" where he surprised her by getting down on one knee and proposing.

In Fall of 2023, Abigail and Ben went to a jeweler before a vacation to Scottsdale and again after the New Year to help her narrow down styles she liked and the size she needed. Ben took it from their and surpassed all of Abigail's dreams! He picked an elegant emerald cut gem set in a stunning gold band. We love that it is both simplistic and opulent at the same time!

The weather on the day of Ben's proposal dictated where the photos got taken. Since it was rainy, he needed somewhere inside that still had the right feel and Union Station was the ideal location for the day! Because Abigail didn't know that she was going to have an engagement session that day, she didn't necessarily pick out something special to wear. But we think her weather-appropriate long sleeve dress and kitten heels were the perfect look for this engagement!

Abigail and Ben have a leg up when it comes to wedding planning because Abigail is a wedding planner who has been working in the industry for almost a decade now! Though there was a vision in Abigail's mind, they explored all their options from an intimate courthouse wedding to a grand city wedding. They've settled somewhere in the middle with a ceremony at Milwaukee's historic St. James 1868. The happy couple shares, "Wedding planning has gone so smoothly, and we love all of our vendors so far! We can’t wait for May!"
