A Free-Spirited, Downtown Chicago E-Session: The Engagement of Taylor and Zak

Zak saw Taylor at her friend's birthday party and asked her to dance. That simple "yes" led to another HUGE one. After buying a ring and asking for a blessing from Taylor's mother and siblings, Zak proposed with a beautiful speech before a Thanksgiving dinner with Taylor's cousins.

Though Zak had originally planned to have Taylor's cousin and best friend help him with ring shopping, he grew impatient and went on his own. With the assistance of reference photos, Zak brought home an oval halo ring. "The reason I love it is it’s not too big, not too small and the undercarriage below the halo reminds me of the Cinderella carriage," Taylor gushes.
 

The venue they picked for their wedding helped Zak and Taylor find their photographer. Zak and Taylor browsed the suggested photographers on the venue's website and decided Westley Leon Studios was the one for them. "Our 30-minute scheduled Zoom call turned into a 2-hour Zoom call. If he wasn’t fit for us, it definitely would not have lasted that long," Taylor says. He was able to capture their true, silly forms in their stunning engagement photos!
 

"I always knew I wanted a fall wedding since it is my favorite season," Taylor explains. "Looking more at different styles, the boho style with a bit of farmhouse fit our personalities the best." Planning is going smoothly for the happy couple. With about a year until their wedding, Taylor and Zak have all the big details ironed out. Despite the stress that can come with the finer details, Taylor and Zak know it will all be worth it when they get to their big day!
