After mutual friends introduced them almost ten years ago, Christian and Nicholas began dating. Nicholas chose to propose on Christmas morning. "I am literally obsessed with Christmas so he put several small gifts in boxes, inside of other boxes which ultimately ended with a handwritten proposal and a ring!" Christian recalls.
Nicholas completely designed Christian's ring! Using a diamond from his grandmother's ring, Nicholas hand-crafted a ring to include Christian's favorite color—purple—and made it entirely unique for Christian. We love that it looks so good even when dressed more casually, which is what the happy couple chose to do for their Grand Rapids engagement session!
Christian saw Jessie's photography work and knew she needed to have her to capture their love story! "I met our photographer at a bridal show and was blown away with her personality. I was sold when I went to her website and saw her sense of humor," Christian shares. "She made me laugh, and I knew I would feel comfortable in front of her camera!" Jessie Silva was able to make both Christian and Nicholas comfortable in front of her lens to allow their personalities to shine through!
So far, the planning process has been smooth sailing for Christian and Nicholas. Christian explains, "We have worked together to make the planning experience a fun one instead of stressful." While most of the planning is done, they have noticed their plans evolving as they get closer to their big day!
