Mallory and John met over a love for the March Madness Tournament by attending a watch party planned by a mutual friend. They hit it off so well that they got together the next day to celebrate St. Patrick's Day. John proposed to Mallory at the Lincoln Park Zoo lights during their third annual trip there with friends.
"I didn’t help pick out the ring but I gave specific instructions on what I wanted—one diamond, pear-shaped, three-prong with a very skinny gold band," Mallory explains. "I'm obsessed with my ring!" We think John did an amazing job of making Mallory's dream wedding ring a reality. It also looks great with that chic jacket Mallory decided to wear to stay warm during their winter engagement session.
Mallory found their photographer, Ashley Biess from Artistrie Co, on Instagram. "I looked at several photographers' Instagram content and Ashley’s content really aligned with what I wanted and was looking for—romantic, ethereal, modern and timeless," Mallory raves. Ashley's style worked so well with the vision Mallory had for her engagement session. Despite the sun breaking through the clouds, the photos still turned out stylish and wintery just like Mallory pictured in her mind.
"Planning is going really well! We are getting married at Luttrellstown Castle in Ireland in July 2022 and planning a destination wedding has been a lot easier than I thought it would be," Mallory gushes. Being an organized and forward-thinking person, Mallory wanted to plan everything ahead of schedule so she didn't need to worry about much as the date approached and enjoy her engagement. So far, Instagram has been her best planning help and inspiration!
