After meeting at a college track meet, Elaine and Jordan were engaged in the sweetest way. Elaine explains, “We went stargazing in the back of the truck. He then read me a note and, by the end of it, got down on his knee and asked me to marry him!”
Inspired by her sisters and a little help from Pinterest, the couple focused on finding a venue and a date that would work for them. Elaine fell in love with The Farmhouse Weddings in Nappanee, Indiana. “Everything about it is beautiful and close for both sides. I knew we would have no regrets with having it at The Farmhouse,” she says.
Elaine found her dress from Stephenson’s in Elkhart, Indiana. “I had no idea what style I liked, so I went into it open-minded,” she says. “I took about six dresses into the fitting room, and as soon as I came out in this dress, everyone in the room quickly agreed this was the one!”
Growing up on a farm out in the country made the venue that much more special to Elaine. “Everything was simple and had a lot of natural beauty,” she explains. Another special touch was Elaine’s brothers walking her down the aisle as she had lost her dad at a young age. She also wore Nike shoes, a nod to her love of running.
The couple’s D.I.Y. projects included the centerpieces at each table, the table numbers, the arch used at the ceremony, wedding favors and ceremony fans.
