"When I first started to plan this shoot I really wanted to highlight the venue, Silo Farms," Christora Osters of Green Apple Photography admits. "I wanted to showcase the location for potential brides and grooms." With the venue being new, the team wanted to highlight how whimsical and stunning this farm location can be!
The family-owned and operated venue is always growing and changing to keep up with the latest trends. Christora explains, "It is a newer venue in the Louisville/Shelbyville area and they are constantly adding items to their availability - such as a green wall, elegant chandeliers, and they are in the process of converting an old farmhouse into a bed and breakfast so the bridal party can stay on property." There are endless photo opportunities for happy couples due to the open rolling hills and various structures around the venue. From whimsical and rustic to elegant and chic, this venue is a perfect blank canvas!
Though the team originally started with just one bride and groom, they eventually expanded to four couples to show the diversity of this space. The dresses all reflect either the whimsical and rustic side (like the ballroom-style gown and the lace-bodice dresses) or the elegant and chic side (like the two all lace sheath gowns). For hair and makeup, the team had full control. "They asked for photos of the gowns and then ordered hairpieces from Hair Comes the Bride to complement each style," Christora shares. We think they did an amazing job capturing the styles of this shoot!
For the décor, the team wanted to make sure to include plenty of flower trends. This scene is practically bursting with florals, and we especially love the ones cascading out of the Rolls Royce! The rest of the décor is light and whimsical with plenty of whites and powder blues. The rental company allowed the team free reign. "They allowed us to come in and choose any of their plates and décor to utilize and suggested other options when they saw it would work with the vision," Christora raves. They were able to infuse a touch of classic and vintage to this shoot!
Instead of springing for one cake, the team wanted to include three of them. Christora gushes, "Each had a little bit of a different feel and varying tiers to present a pleasing visual to the eye." We love how they blend together but are all unique from each other. The exposed cake through the icing is a beautiful touch to these delicious-looking cakes.
