A Winter Engagement at Notre Dame: The Engagement of Kiah and Derek

Kiah and Derek met on Tinder and decided to go out for a date. At first, Kiah almost canceled because she wasn't thinking Derek was the right guy for her. Luckily, she decided go and it turned out perfectly. Kiah adds, "Little did I know how wrong I was. Needless to say, the rest is history and I am very glad I went on that date!"
 

Derek planned a super sweet proposal. Kiah says, "We were back at Notre Dame with his parents to take in the excitement of the first football game of the season. He took me for a walk around the lakes and at the end of our walk completely shocked me by getting down on one knee! We went to tell his parents and I was about to pick up the phone to call my parents who were back home in South Dakota…when they popped out from behind a tree!" It was a perfect surprise and it was great to be surrounded by family at this big moment. 
 

The couple picked Dave Thompson Photography to capture their engagement session, saying, "We knew we needed to find a local photographer for our engagement photos, not only for convenience but also someone familiar with the campus. We scouted the work of several local photographers and Dave stood out to us. After viewing his past work and interacting with him, we felt confident that he would capture not only our love for each other but also for our beautiful campus…and we were not disappointed!"
