Desiring to marry a rustic farm feel with the elegant, organic touches only a local farm could provide, Brooke DePauw of Stellaluna Events channeled her passion for Southwest Michigan’s natural resources into a blueberry farm-inspired style shoot that is nothing short of gorgeous and fresh!

Graced by a gorgeous day, the only challenge the team faced was finding the perfect spot at beautiful DeGrandchamp Farms. “I actually talked with a few different blueberry farms but the moment I talked with Katelyn (whom is a member of the DeGrandchamp family), I knew this would be the perfect location,” Brooke says. “Not only was the farm well kept and the blueberry bushes lush but she was so wonderful to talk to and it is a great company!”

Playing off the beauty of Mother Nature, Brooke let the farm’s natural beauty shape her entire design and palette.

Brooke’s floral selections also proved to be a perfect complement to the natural scene. “I used a lot of rich greenery like eucalyptus, bay leaves and snow on the mountain,” she says. “I used the blooms to bring out color like spray roses, anemones, garden roses, ranunculus and, of course, real blueberries for the perfect amount of texture.”

The palette itself was a nod to the growing stages of the blueberries—from soft greens and shades of purple to the deep blue colors you see when they are ripe and ready to enjoy. Copper accents were also added to the earthy combination.

The model used her own wedding dress, which had just the right balance of elegance and rustic charm. While Haley Reed finished off the look with a low updo loosened with organic movement, Alissa Walker created a bridal look that would complement the “wholesome farm feel.”

A cozy farm scene wouldn’t be complete without a gorgeous farm table! 95 Designs & Co. provided the wood table and cake stand. At Home French country chairs, Pier One napkins and copper flatware from Target completed the inviting tablescape. Vanilla macarons and a chocolate berry cake complete with fresh blueberries were just the desserts needed for the delicate display.

The stationery also served as an extra special touch. Smitten on Paper provided the earthy suite. The table menu, escort cards and table numbers were hand-lettered and created by Bridget of Bridget Lynette Designs.
