DOLLAR DASH: DANCE N' SOUND

Take a twist on the dollar dance, and make it a dollar dash! While the dollar dance is still popular, couples are opting for a more fun, energized approach way to entertain their guests, while still making some cash!

How it works: Prior to this event, both the bride and groom choose a few members of their wedding party, forming two teams.  When it’s time to start, the DJ brings the newlyweds and their respective “teams” to the dance floor and explains to the crowd that the winner of the Dollar Dash becomes head of the household for the rest of their lives and that the winner is determined by which team collects the most money.

With music playing and the bride and groom cheering them on, each team takes off running through the room collecting as much money as they can. If guests want the bride to win, they give money to the bridesmaids, if they want the groom to win, they pass their money to the groomsmen.

When the time is up, the teams return to the DJ and count the money. The DJ then announces who made the most money and crowns the winner as “Head of the Household.”

ANNIVERSARY DANCE: DANCE N' SOUND

The Anniversary Dance is a fun and interactive event to add to the traditional special events at a wedding reception.  It gets the married guests involved, whom often get left out of the traditional wedding reception fun.

How it works:  First, the DJ asks all the married couples to join together on the dance floor. Once everyone is ready, the music begins and within twenty or so seconds, the DJ starts by asking couples married less than 24 hours to please leave the dance floor. This is, of course, when the newlywed couple gets eliminated. As the song continues, the DJ will ask couples married less than two years to leave the dance floor, followed by five years, ten years, and so on until one couple remains. The last couple remaining is the longest married couple in attendance at the reception.  We ask the newlyweds to come back to the dance floor and finish the song with the longest married couple. It is very touching and definitely a photographer’s favorite moment.

At the end of the song the winning couple is asked to share some advice with the newlyweds.

THEMED MUSIC: MEG RODGERS, HARPIST

You have a theme for your colors, your flowers, your favors, your food...so why not your music? For the less traditional bride, incorporating unexpected songs throughout your special day can help keep it feeling like “you”, and with the beautiful tones of the harp almost any song can be translated into a lovely melody.

Some Ideas:
Beatles Songs
1920’s Classics
Disney Tunes
Coldplay Songs
Jason Mraz Songs
