1. Not Booking Your Photographer Soon Enough

Your venue is not the only wedding vendor you should book right away. Photographers often get booked way in advance (like two years in advance sometimes). Do yourself a favor and book your choice photographer before it is too late!

2. Doubting Your Decisions

Many brides can feel uneasy when it comes to making certain decisions, such as what bridal gown they will wear, what dress their bridesmaids will wear, what florals to use and so much more. It is easy to be swayed by what is popular at the time you are planning, but be confident and stick with what you like best. Your style makes you who you are and this is your day, so don’t let others or popular opinion tell you what you should do!

3. Not asking about what is included in special packages or deals

You may be surprised by how many wedding vendors offer discounts and specials. Some venues include tables, chairs and even linens in their rental cost, while some caterers offer complimentary cocktail hours in their packages. Make sure to ask about every deal your vendors have to offer so that you get the best options for your budget!

4. Not spending enough non-planning time with your S.O.

Planning a wedding can take up a lot of your time, but remember that this is the person you love. Don’t overwhelm both yourself and them with planning around the clock. Take one day out of the week to enjoy personal time with them that is not spent talking about wedding plans. This will take the pressure off of their shoulders and yours.

5. Not taking enough time for yourself

Take this time during your engagement to establish a great morning and evening routine. This time should allow you to relax, unwind and focus on your well-being. Creating these routines now will ensure that when it comes to the week of your wedding you will not feel so chaotic.
