In 2004, siblings Ken and Kristie Carter decided to start a limousine business. Both very young at the time – Ken 23 and Kristie 17 – they did not know what the outcome would be, but thought it was worth a try. They started with one limousine in the driveway of Ken’s home. Kristie went to college soon after they started Aadvanced Limousines, but the two of them worked hard to manage the business from two different places. In the end their hard work paid off, and within 9 years the Aadvanced Limousines fleet has grown from 1 to 22 vehicles. We have some of the largest limousines in Indianapolis and can seat up to 22 passengers in the same vehicle. When Aadvanced Limousines started the limo was parked in the driveway. Now we have a 12,000 square foot building in the Wanamaker area. We have learned a lot in the last 9 years, and look forward to what we will learn in the future. We would like to share some tips that may help you when looking for wedding transportation.

1) Make Reservations

Wedding season will mean making arrangements far ahead of time, often a year or more. At minimum, you would want to have the vehicle secured 6 weeks prior to the event. Follow up a week prior to the event to ensure everything is set as planned and get the details for the event in writing.

2) Plan Some Details

Some companies want to know as much as possible about the event to eliminate any stress from you on your big day. In addition, have a good idea of how many people will be riding, the number of hours you expect to need the service and the distance that will be traveled. Pad a little extra in terms of the number of passengers or time it will take. The few extra dollars will prove to be well spent by the amount of stress and hurry that will be relieved.

3) Choose Your vehicle

Not all limousines are stretch, and not all limousines have the same amenities. Consider a limo bus; often they will boast more space than traditional limousines with the same accommodations.

4) Plan For Refreshments

Part of the fun of reserving a bus or limo is starting the party before you arrive at the event. Check with the company about offerings for food and beverages along with what may be included.

5) Consider Your Music

Though some companies will offer different accessories for the radio, you may prefer to bring your own music on your iPod or maybe a mixed CD. You will want to ask about the possibilities.

6) Plan Your Routes

Are you going straight from point A to point B, or are you planning to meander and make stops at places along the way? You’ll want to inform the company and chauffeur of your expected itinerary and any special notes about the locations planned to visit.

7) Be Clear About Cost

Each company establishes its own fee structure, whether hourly or flat rate. Make sure you understand any surcharges, such as fuel, and any other hidden or surprise costs.

8) Prepare To Tip

It’s customary to tip the chauffeur 18-20% of the fare, however, some companies add gratuity automatically to the reservation. Other companies will leave the amount of the tip at the client’s discretion, even though 90% of the chauffeurs pay comes form gratuity. Please check with your provider to see how they handle gratuity.

9) Check Them Out

To get the best expected experience for your money, be sure to check on-line reviews and referrals. Feel free to visit the potential providers facility and see the ACTUAL vehicle you are interested in.
