When Chettara T. Photography of Detroit, Michigan came up with the idea to shoot an edgy, new shoot downtown, she knew that she wanted to create something never before seen. That is why she reached out to Ashley of The Dulce Experience and Monica of M. Dawn Floral Design. Chettara says, “Although it was originally my idea, the shoot was a collaborative effort between Ashley, Monica and myself. We pictured showcasing a bit of our beautiful city and playing with the color yellow. We wanted to go with an elopement as it isn’t something we readily see in our area, so the goal was simple yet fun and beautiful.”
Sticking with the color scheme, the team curated a shoot that involved a soft yellow hue. This is highlighted within the florals. Monica says, “I chose to design a soft cascade style for the bouquet to go along with this returning trend. The bouquet for our bride was designed with lots of texture and movement. A matching floral bow tie was designed for our groom.”
The florals were also brought into the cake design by The Dulce Experience. Ashley says, “I wanted to make a cake that brought in the things the couple and city were surrounded by. Since our colors were yellow and gray, that made it easy! The gray for all the buildings and the yellow reminds me of flowers! Flowers grow just like this wonderful city is growing. The florals provided by Monica blended perfectly with the soft city street vibe of the cake!”
The team used a modern dress from Detroit Bridal House to tie in with the theme. The bridal look also featured a glamorous, sweet makeup look. Owner of Configure Beauty Detroit, Robbin, says, “The makeup for the bride was fresh skin, a soft pink matte lip, with a rose gold smokey eye. The hair was a softly curled, tousled, beach wave with an ornate rose gold star headband.”
