Our apple orchard wedding inspiration shoot came together so beautifully and it really began with Ashley, our photographer, suggesting a shoot at the gorgeous Robinette’s Apple Orchard in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The design and styling stemmed from the setting.

We wanted to create an inspiration for brides, showing them something different from the typical “Pinterest” wedding decor. Departing from that rustic, vintage and muted color palette everyone loves so much, we went for something more vibrant, saturated, and textured.

Today’s bride could easily recreate this look, coming up with a celebration her guests would not soon forget, and that’s what we love so much about it. There’s something personal and accessible about this wedding. We wanted the apple orchard to serve as something special to the bride and groom. Maybe they met there or maybe they went on their first date there. Whatever that special element, place, or thing is to you and your significant other, you can make it a meaningful part of your big day!

We quickly came up with the idea to do a sunrise ceremony, serving beautiful, bitesize brunch-themed food, complete with a mimosa bar. Simple, airy and romantic décor was all that was needed because the apple orchard itself provided all the texture.

The Florals

The florals quickly became the most stunning element, tying everything together. From the bride’s amazing bouquet full of fluffy dahlias, garden roses and mini apple branches, to the whimsical centerpiece surrounded by gold apples displaying the place cards, the flowers were a true showstopper.

The Sweets

The unique and delicious (you’ll just have to trust us on this one!) apple crumb cake and homemade applesauce favors perfectly tied together the apple elements of the inspiration shoot (without going overboard).

The gorgeous light of the sunrise accented our blush, white, red, and gold palette, as each unique touch, delectable treat, beautiful models, and perfectly placed flowers combined all the amazing vendors’ talents.
