The Inspiration

This cover was all about romance and simplicity. But instead of the typical hues that exude romance like reds and pinks, our team of vendors wanted to show how the same look and feel could be achieved with light lavender and tons of greenery and florals. To bring nothing short of a wow factor to the shoot, we partnered with Magical Moments Event Planning to make our exciting dreams come to life. Another magical twist? A live artist on set to capture all the beauty and love!

The Venue

Choosing the venue for our romantic vision was an easy decision. “Gallery Forty-Two was the perfect choice for this shoot because it is so different from other venues in Indiana,” says Lora of Magical Moments Event Planning. “It’s an art gallery that is in a 100-year-old building so it has such a wonderful charm to it. It has a lot of wood elements in the renovated parts, but when you go to the back of the building and to the top floors, you will see the original brick which gives it an industrial feel.”

The Florals

The breathtaking floral selections were focused on sophistication, texture and color. Foliages such as Lilly Grass added glamour and flair while the different shades of lavender provided depth and movement. The Moon Gate arch also served as a strong yet simple symbol of everlasting love. Denese of Bloom! Custom Floral Designs says, “We chose this color palette for two reasons. Mixing metals such as silver, gold and copper is super popular right now, and we wanted to include a pop of color so we went with lavender. Lavender is soft and lovely and can really set that romantic tone.” The lovely bouquet featured Tibet Roses, Ranunculus, Early Grey Roses, Ocean Song Roses, Lisianthus, snowberries and Parvifolia.

The Look

Mirroring the venue’s aesthetic, our model’s hair was elegant, polished and timeless. “The makeup was focused on accentuating the model’s already striking features, highlighting her beautiful brows and full lips,” says Andi Sherman of Something Blue Stylists. “Enhancements such as under eye hyaluronic masks and a lip plumping collagen treatment were used to prep the skin before applying makeup.”

The DÉcor

Lavender hues were echoed throughout the décor in items such as purple water goblets and gold mirrored cake stands that showcased lavender beverages. The bar backdrop was a standout with the help of Atmospheres Indy’s beautiful greenery wall. The team also set the perfect tablescape using white chiavari chairs, tables, linens, gold utensils and gold rimmed chargers from A Classic Party Rental. “Two of the hot trends that we used in this shoot were using a live artist and also the floral ceremony circle,” says Lora. “Those are two newer trends that can really show couples that they can have something different and unique for their wedding. Hopefully this shoot inspires them.”

The Stationery

Kaitlin Robinson of Athena Street Creative, expertly captured exactly what we had envisioned for this shoot. “She took the inspiration board and really ran with it and came up with wonderful stationery for the shoot,” says Lora.

The Cake

The striking cake, designed by Classic Cakes, met our vision with lovely streaks of gold and eye-catching geometric shapes. A touch of greenery visually tied it to the rest of the florals.
