A Beautiful Green Park Engagement: The Engagement of Emily and Daniel

Cupid quickly shot his bow into the hearts of Emily and Daniel when they met on OkCupid. Emily says that it took a lot of wading through conversations and first dates, but when they found each other, it was a match made in heaven!

Daniel popped the question during a trip the couple took to Boston in the fall. They spent the day wandering the city, hitting tourist spots like the aquarium and the harbor. After a day of wandering, they headed back to the hotel where Daniel got down on one knee. Emily recalls, “Daniel kept suggesting areas to stop: the harbor, the carousel and the park close by, but I was quite frankly a little grumpy and tired. So, back to the hotel we went. Once inside the room, he could not wait any longer. He turned and said ‘you know I love you,’ pulled out the ring from his coat pocket and popped the question.” We love that he turned her frown upside down!

"Photo-journalistic" and "natural" were the vibes the couple were looking for in photographers, which is exactly what they got when it came to Jenny Beck! Emily saw the dress she wanted to wear for these special photos on Instagram. “When I saw it, I knew I wanted to wear this dress for the pictures—who doesn’t love a good striped dress? And the colors are gorgeous.” We think so, too!

Emily’s visions for their wedding changed after they booked the venue at The Cincinnati Club. She says, “I had my ideas on what I wanted—something rustic and full of flowers. But we both feel in love with the venue, which is very Art Deco, and knew that we needed to have the wedding there. So we queued a brand new Pinterest board full of greenery, candelabras, ornate gold frames and guys in full suits.”

The planning period has been easy for the couple. Emily says thanks to her mom and planner, they had all their vendors booked by February for their November wedding. Emily says, “We are enjoying our summer till things start to pick up again in the fall.” We’re so glad they took the time to have fun the summer before they say, “I do!”
