Boho Style Gets a Modern Twist in this Indianapolis Micro Wedding Style Shoot

With the avenue of weddings changing due to COVID-19, this vendor team saw a perfect opportunity to flex their shoot muscles with a styled micro wedding! The idea came from the venue, who wanted to highlight the flexibility of the hotel’s space. “We envisioned a small and intimate wedding day for the couple, but that in no way meant that they had to compromise in terms of style and flair,” Kristen of Kristen Bowen Photography says. “We wanted something with a modern and stylized flair that was deeply personal and intimate.”

The bride’s soft and simple look, artfully created by Something Blue Stylists, heightens her natural beauty. “Nothing about the shoot was meant to be dramatic or over-the-top, just the right amount of style and simplicity,” Kristen notes. 

Sticking with simplicity, the team chose a subtly decorated gown as well to not draw too much attention away from the style of the rest of the venue. Kristen adds, “We didn’t want the dress to be too busy that it overtook the bride or the rest of the details, and we thought this dress fit that balance perfectly.”

The golden arch was a trend that the team knew would look great in the space. And can we talk about that mobile bar? Cocktail hour has arrived in style!

The team worked off of the venue's modern vibes to style the rest of the shoot. Drawing inspiration from the golden accents in the hotel, the team chose a neutral and warm color scheme to match. The touches of copper, gold and cider make this a perfect late summer or early fall celebration.
