This elegant wintry shoot was thought up by Jacqui of James CO. She wanted to showcase the style of a classical wedding in the winter. “My goal was to create a December wedding that wasn’t Christmas,” she says. Jacqui took the idea of “dreaming of red” and ran with it to create this brisk shoot!

The subtle and tasteful use of gold throughout the tablescape really helps the red accents stand out.

The team incorporated the trend of non-traditional desserts by displaying chocolate in addition to cake. “I've seen a few shoots lately that have used cotton candy and cookie cakes, so I tried to find something different,” Jacqui notes.

Because Jacqui wanted there to be a pop of red in the shoot, she and the team chose a venue with an open space with lots of neutral trees. “I wanted an outdoor winter setting that allowed us to have a ‘clean backdrop’ where there weren’t a lot of distractions or clash of colors,” she says. “When I see tall beautiful trees like this, it makes me think of a private get-away because it’s wide open with an enclosed feeling.”

This gown’s style was simple and sweet. We love the pearls trailing across the torso of this dress. It fit so well into the shoot’s design that Jacqui knew it would be the one before the model even tried it on! The makeup style was kept natural, but the bride’s dark lipstick gives off a pop. The gorgeous pearly headband makes her elegant updo that much more enchanting!
