The Cakes That Are Almost Too Pretty to Eat (Almost)

Wedding cakes have come along ways since they were first introduced into the wedding day tradition and we're so glad they have! While some brides have deviated completely from serving cake at their reception, most include some type of tiered cake even if they have a dessert station. Today, wedding cakes are no longer considered an after-dinner dessert. Instead, they serve as an artistic focal point in the reception room. No longer are cake creators called bakers. They are artists, designers and stylists, with a goal of not only baking heavenly confections, but to design an element that follows fashion-forward trends.

We searched relentlessly for some of the best cake designers in the business. The results? Well, let's just say these artists give a whole new meaning to the saying "takes the cake!"
